Political Pandering to the Politically Irrelevant

And the public option goes bye-bye, in no small part due to a very noisy minority party.
From the AP:

The White House indicated it could jettison the contentious public option and settle on insurance cooperatives as an acceptable alternative, a move embraced by some Republican lawmakers who have strongly opposed the administration’s approach so far.

Kathleen Sebelius, charged with protecting the health and welfare of our population, signaled the administration’s willingness to throw the already flawed and diluted concept of a public insurance option under the wheels of insurance and pharma’s express bus of mandated crap.

And we once again prove that we have the best democracy money can buy.
